Turn Waste Into A Resource!
The Nevada County Master Gardeners are also Master Composters and can help you turn your yard waste, food scraps, animal manures and more into the best soil amendment for your garden. Through the process of aerobic decomposition, organic materials transform into humus. In nature, this process occurs without any help from us, but it can take a long time. We can involve ourselves in the process and speed the process up to recycle our organic waste quickly and produce finished compost in the quantities we want for our gardens.
